Discourage deer in your yard

Deer browse a wide variety of flowers and shrubs, many commonly used by homeowners to landscape their properties. Landscaped yards can be a "deer buffet" and provide deer with an ideal food source

Reduce your risk of Lyme disease by discouraging deer in your yard.

  • Consider planting deer-resistant plants and shrubs.
  • Consider fencing.  Deer fencing is usually 8-10 feet in height, and buried one foot deep.  Many types of fencing are available for complete or partial deer exclusion.  Consult your local Planning and Zoning office for any height restrictions.
