Keep play equipment in open locations

 
This play equipment is located in a shady place, covered with leaf litter—perfect habitat for mice and ticks.

Move play equipment out of the shade and into the sun, where ticks are less likely to be. Remember to use sunscreen on children when playing outdoors.

Note the woodchip surface of this play area, and that it is
raked free of leaf litter.
