Stonewalls need to be maintained

The wall above is full of chinks, and surrounded by plants and landscape litter.

  • Close fitting stones or cement walls make it hard for mice and chipmunks to nest.
  • Remove leaf litter and debris around stonewalls to reduce tick habitats.

This wall is relatively neat.  A good time to check over walls and fix them is early spring, after the thaw.
