In the Live Well workshop you’ll get the
support you need, find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue,
discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment
choices, and learn better ways to talk with you doctor and family about
your health. If you have, or care for someone with, conditions such as
diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain,
anxiety, Live Well can help you take charge of you life.
Taught by specially trained leaders, some who have health conditions
themselves, Live Well meets for six weekly
sessions, covers a new topic each week and provides opportunities for
interaction and group problem solving. “We are more like coaches,” says
Monica Wheeler, Community Health Director at WWHD, and trained leader of
the Live Well Program. “The answer to someone’s question is usually in
the room.”
A Live Well Workshop will be offered at the
Westport Center for Senior Activities on six consecutive Mondays, from
July 19 to Aug. 23, from 1 – 3:30 p.m. Spaces are limited! Call Monica
Wheeler, RN at the health district at 203-227-9571, ext. 242, for
additional information or to register. Also, you may register at the
Westport Center for Senior Activities for this workshop.
